Our Recent Ofsted Inspection

A School Where Children Thrive

During our recent Ofsted inspection, inspectors recognised many of the strengths that make our school such a special place to learn and grow. They found a caring, nurturing community where children feel safe, supported and valued, and where wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do.

Inspectors highlighted the school's "lovely atmosphere" and noted that children and parents "love and trust the school". They recognised the positive relationships that exist throughout the school and the calm, kind and respectful behaviour demonstrated by our pupils.

Keeping Children Safe

Safeguarding was judged to be secure, with inspectors finding no concerns regarding systems, processes, records or staff training. They reported that pupils feel safe in school and have a strong understanding of personal safety, online safety and road safety.

Wellbeing and Nurture

Inspectors identified wellbeing and nurture as key strengths of the school. They recognised our philosophy that happy, confident children are best placed to succeed and saw this reflected in the experiences of our pupils. The inspection found evidence of strong pastoral support, effective attendance work, ELSA provision, positive relationships and a culture where children enjoy coming to school.

Strong Early Years Provision

The Early Years provision received particularly positive feedback. Inspectors described the environment as well designed, calm and purposeful, with children who were happy, settled and fully engaged in learning. They praised the quality of adult-child interactions, language development opportunities and the effective routines that support children's development. Forest School provision was also recognised as a positive feature of the Early Years experience.

Attendance and Behaviour

Inspectors noted the school's rigorous approach to attendance and recognised the comprehensive support offered to families. Behaviour was described as calm, kind and respectful, with pupils engaging positively in school life. The report recognises the strong culture that exists across the school and the positive attitudes shown by our children.

Broadening Children's Horizons

Inspectors praised our commitment to providing children with a rich range of experiences beyond the classroom. Particular strengths included:

  • Educational visits and residential opportunities.
  • A strong music offer, including learning instruments and participation in Young Voices.
  • Sporting opportunities and competitive events.
  • Outdoor learning experiences.
  • Visits to a wide range of places of worship to help pupils understand and respect different faiths and cultures.
  • Opportunities that help children develop their talents and interests.

A School Valued by Families

Feedback from parents during the inspection was overwhelmingly positive. Inspectors noted comments celebrating the school's nurturing approach, strong sense of community, outdoor learning opportunities and the way children flourish during their time with us. Parents also highlighted that they would recommend the school to others.

Looking Forward

The inspection recognised that our school has strong foundations built on care, wellbeing, inclusion, positive relationships and a commitment to helping every child succeed. Inspectors acknowledged the many strengths already in place while identifying clear next steps that will help us continue to improve teaching, learning and outcomes for all pupils. We are proud of what has been achieved and excited about the next stage of our journey.
