A Typical Day at Bridstow

Each day begins with a calm, purposeful start, giving children time to settle, organise themselves and get ready to learn. Class timetables vary, but the outline below shows how a typical school day works

8.45–8.55am: Soft start and drop-off

Children may arrive between 8.45 and 8.55am. This short arrival window helps families enter safely and reduces congestion in the car park.  A member of staff is on duty during this period. Children arriving after 8.55am should be brought to the school office so that they can be signed in.

9.00am: Learning begins

Lessons begin at 9.00am. During the soft start, children complete short morning activities suited to their class and stage of learning.

In Key Stage 2, these often include maths fluency challenges or spelling activities on the children’s iPads. Key Stage 1 activities vary during the year as children’s learning and independence develop.

3.05–3.15pm: Home time

The school gate opens shortly after 3.00pm. Children are collected from their classroom doors between 3.05 and 3.15pm.

Please ensure that children are collected by 3.15pm unless they are attending an after-school club or have been booked into Busy Bees.
